3 Healthy Smoothie Recipes

For a summer breakfast, there may be nothing more refreshing than a smoothie. Starting your day with a smoothie – or sipping one as a healthy snack – doesn’t just taste great; smoothies are a fabulous way to get the nutrients your body needs, and it makes it much easier to up your veggie and fruit intake, too. They’re also a great option for on-the-fly, as they’re easy to mix up and take in a to-go cup.

All smoothie recipes include NutraCleanseTM, a dietary supplement that’s high in fibre, omega-3, and omega-6 fatty acids that help give a boost in digestive health, provide energy, and keep your heart healthy.


Pina Colada Smoothie

Take a little trip to the tropics with this healthy twist on a favourite cocktail, that comes along with many health benefits:

Pineapple: Anti-inflammatory, high in antioxidants, manganese, and vitamin C.

Coconut Water: Naturally high in electrolytes, making it a great hydration drink.

Shredded Coconut: High in fibre, iron, and healthy fats, adding this ingredient to your smoothie can help you feel fuller longer.

¾ cup diced pineapple

1/3 cup NutraCleanseTM

½ cup coconut water

½ cup vanilla almond milk

½ cup ice

¼ cup shredded, unsweetened coconut

Place all items in blender and pulse until smooth.  If necessary, add more coconut water.

Banana Smoothie

Enjoy your morning coffee in this decadent-tasting smoothie, or blend it up for an afternoon kick.

Coffee: Not only does it give you an energy boost, but coffee contains antioxidants that have been associated with a lower risk of dementia and diabetes.

Vega Protein & Greens: Just one serving adds 20 grams of protein and two servings of greens to your smoothie.

Cacao Nibs: These raw chocolate bits are high in antioxidants and great for your heart.

1 cup brewed coffee, cooled

½ cup almond milk, frozen into ice cubes

1 serving Vega Protein & Greens, Chocolate

1/3 cup NutraCleanseTM

1 frozen banana

1 tbsp cocao nibs

Pour all ingredients except cocao nibs into blender, blending until smooth.  Pour into a glass and garnish with cacao nibs.

Strawberry Rhubarb Smoothie

Rhubarb: This tart fruit is high in antioxidants, fibre, and vitamin K.

Strawberries: Strawberries are high in vitamin C, which is associated with immunity, eye health, and lowering cancer risk.

Almond Milk: This dairy alternative packs a punch of calcium, vitamin E, and vitamin D.

Adapted from Vega Strawberry Rhubarb Crumble Smoothie

¾ cup rhubarb

1 cup frozen strawberries

1 scoop vanilla protein powder

1/3 cup NutraCleanseTM

1 ½ cups almond milk

Pour all items into blender and blend until smooth.  Pour into a glass and enjoy!
